Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) Program
The major problems that communities grapple with pertaining to WASH include but not limited to long distance between water access, unsatisfactory management of water resources and environment, low quality & quantity of water for both human and livestock consumption as well as limited access to sanitary facilities and waste disposal. The objective of the program is thus to ensure continuous access to sufficient portable water and ensure proper hygiene to the pastoralist communities in greater Marsabit through training and harnessing of various underground and surface water sources.
