Overview
PISP fosters trust building and harmonious co-existence among the various communities of Marsabit County, addressing resource-based, politically-instigated and religious conflicts.
The programme involves local leaders in peace mediation and conflict resolution, facilitates dialogue within and between communities, and supports inter-ethnic school sporting competitions and peace clubs. It strengthens peace committees through capacity development and implements collaborative initiatives — such as shared water projects — that connect formerly hostile groups.
PISP partners with UNDP, Saferworld, Sign of Hope and The Christensen Fund, alongside local traditional and government institutions.
